A Decade of Dyno Testing Excellence

At EcoMax Tuning, we've been perfecting the art of petrol and diesel tuning for over a decade. Since 2014, we've invested in the latest cutting-edge technology to ensure we deliver unmatched performance and precision for our customers.

Our DynoCom dyno allows us to cater to a wide range of vehicles, offering accurate and reliable power runs for both 2WD and 4WD vehicles. Whether you want to verify a tune, compare before and after figures, or just satisfy your curiosity, our dyno runs deliver accurate, data-backed results.

By adjusting the engine software to suit your specific vehicle, we can improve throttle response, strengthen mid-range pull, and make power delivery smoother and more predictable. Each vehicle is treated individually so the changes feel natural and balanced.

The end result is a car that drives better, feels more responsive, and is more enjoyable every time you get behind the wheel.

Dyno Testing at Our Peterborough Workshop

Our Peterborough workshop houses a professional-grade DynoCom hub-linked dynamometer capable of testing both 2WD and 4WD vehicles with up to 1,200bhp capacity. Unlike roller-based systems, our hub-linked design eliminates tyre slip and friction losses from measurements, delivering the most accurate and repeatable power figures available. For drivers across Peterborough and Cambridgeshire seeking verified performance data, our facility provides the precision that matters.

Dyno testing is not just about seeing impressive numbers on a printout. It is a critical safety tool that allows our technicians to monitor your engine under sustained load in a controlled environment. During every session, we track air-fuel ratios, exhaust gas temperatures, and boost pressure in real time. If any parameter approaches unsafe territory, adjustments are made immediately. This level of monitoring is what separates professional dyno tuning from road-based alternatives.

Whether you are booking a standalone power run to verify an existing tune or commissioning a full dyno-developed ECU remap, our facility delivers the data and precision needed for reliable results. Every customer receives printed power and torque curves, and remap clients receive detailed before-and-after comparisons.

Road Tuning vs Dyno Tuning

Road-based tuning relies on estimated power gains and basic data logging captured during real-world driving. While acceptable for straightforward calibrations, road tuning cannot match the precision of dyno development. Variables such as wind resistance, road gradient, traffic conditions, and ambient temperature all introduce inaccuracies. Dyno testing eliminates these variables entirely, providing a controlled baseline that allows for precise, repeatable calibration.

Air-Fuel Ratio Monitoring

One of the most important safety checks during dyno tuning is monitoring the air-fuel ratio under load. A lean mixture (insufficient fuel) can cause dangerously high combustion temperatures, leading to detonation and potential engine damage. A rich mixture (excessive fuel) wastes power and increases emissions. Our live AFR monitoring ensures your engine runs within optimal parameters across the entire rev range, providing both maximum performance and complete safety.

Serving Cambridgeshire and Beyond

Our Peterborough workshop is centrally located for customers across Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, and the wider East of England. We regularly welcome customers from Cambridge, Ely, Huntingdon, Stamford, and Spalding. The workshop features a comfortable viewing area where you can watch the entire dyno session and see your results in real time. View our dyno pricing or book your session today.

Stage 1 Remapping

Our most popular option. Stage 1 remaps work with your vehicle's existing hardware, optimising fueling, boost, and ignition timing for noticeable improvements in power and response.

  • No hardware changes required
  • Improved throttle response
  • Better mid-range torque
  • Enhanced driveability

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Our remaps are carefully developed to work within safe parameters. We always ensure the modifications respect the engine's mechanical limits, maintaining reliability and longevity.

Gains vary depending on the vehicle and engine type. Turbocharged engines typically see the most improvement. We'll provide realistic expectations based on your specific vehicle during consultation.

When driven sensibly, many customers actually see improved fuel economy due to better throttle response and torque delivery. You'll find yourself using less throttle to achieve the same results.

Yes. We always keep a backup of your original ECU file. The vehicle can be returned to factory settings at any time if required.

Dyno testing allows us to measure actual power output and fine-tune the remap to your specific vehicle. While not essential, it ensures the best possible results and gives you verified figures.

Yes. During a dyno session, we monitor air-fuel ratios, exhaust gas temperatures, and boost pressure in real time. If any parameter approaches unsafe limits, we can adjust immediately. This level of monitoring is not possible during road-based tuning.

Our in-house 4WD dyno is located at our Peterborough workshop, serving customers from across Cambridgeshire. We offer both standalone power runs and full dyno-developed remaps.

A standalone power run session costs £120 for 2WD vehicles and £150 for 4WD vehicles. If you go ahead with a remap with us on the spot, the full dyno session is just £200 in total.

Yes. Our DynoCom hub-linked dyno supports both 2WD and 4WD vehicles with a capacity of up to 1,200bhp, covering everything from standard cars to high-performance builds.

You receive a printed graph showing power and torque curves across the rev range. For remap sessions, we provide before-and-after comparisons so you can see exactly what the tune has achieved.
