What is DSG Gearbox Tuning?

The DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox) and S-tronic are dual-clutch automatic transmissions used across the Volkswagen Group. While they offer excellent performance in stock form, the factory software is conservative with torque limits and shift speeds.

Our DSG tuning recalibrates the transmission control unit (TCU) to allow faster gear changes, higher torque capacity, optimised shift points, and improved launch control, making it the perfect complement to an engine remap.

We tune DSG and S-tronic gearboxes across the full VAG range including Volkswagen Golf, Polo, Scirocco, Audi A3, S3, RS3, TT, Skoda Octavia vRS, Superb, and SEAT Leon, Cupra. Both 6-speed (DQ250) and 7-speed (DQ381, DQ500) units are supported.

DSG tuning provides faster gear changes, higher torque limits to support engine remaps, improved launch control, smoother shifting, removal of speed limiters, and optimised shift points for performance or economy.

Absolutely. If you've had a Stage 1 or Stage 2 engine remap, a DSG tune is highly recommended. The standard gearbox software limits torque, which can prevent you from getting the full benefit of your engine remap. A DSG tune raises these limits.

As with any modification, DSG tuning may affect your manufacturer warranty. However, our calibrations are developed to work within safe parameters and we provide a lifetime guarantee on all our software.
